The Classical Ideal: Music and Architecture in Harmony is a concert that highlights the themes of classicism and romanticism resonant not only in music but also in the architecture and decorative arts of this historic classical home. The Kirkland’s original late eighteenth-century, London-made pianoforte. Featuring Robert deMaine (Principal Cello, Los Angeles Philharmonic) and Simon Adda-Reyss (Associate Professor of Keyboard Studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris). Discussion with John Watson, Curator of Musical Instruments and Conservator of Instruments at Colonial Williamsburg along with the musicians. Open house and wine reception prior to concert.
