Piedmont Farm Tour
April 22 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 2:00pm, repeating until April 23, 2017
Every spring, local farmers open their farms to visitors during the Piedmont Farm Tour. Visitors can learn about sustainable agriculture and farmstead cheese, see baby animals, gather eggs, and enjoy the beauty of Piedmont farms. They can meet the people who grow their food and see how it is grown.
To take the tour, buy a button that enables a carload (or a group of bicyclists) to visit all the farms. Buttons are available at Weaver Street Market stores (late March) or online from Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) for $30 before the tour dates; they can also be purchased during the tour at any farm for $35. Farms are open from 2 to 6 PM each day. The tour is self-guided; use the tour brochure or the CFSA’s interactive map to plan your visits to maximize your time at the farms. We suggest visiting 2 to 4 each day. Farms are located throughout the Triangle in Alamance, Chatham, Orange, and Person counties. The tour occurs RAIN OR SHINE.
