Regulator 250 Virtual Content Commemoration

September 24, 2020 @ 12:00 pm

Unable to pay the rising taxes and enraged by corrupt Royal government officials, a group of farmers from the Carolinas formed the Regulator Movement in 1765. Culminating at the Battle of Alamance, May 16,1771, the Regulation Movement ended with a loss to Tryon’s army, resulting in 12 Regulator men’s imprisonment. June 19, 1771, six Regulators were pardoned, while the remaining six sentenced to be hanged in Hillsborough, NC.

Join us as the partners of The Alliance for Historic Hillsborough virtually come together to pay tribute to an important movement in North Carolina’s history.

All of the content below will be available on our website, HistoricHillsborough.org, starting September 24. You can register today for these virtual events on the linked Eventbrite page.
