How to Write a Meaningful Artist Statement – Artist Workshop
May 5 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm| $30
As artists, we take care and pride in presenting our original works because our art is an expression of who we are; it is a window into our creative souls. Our artist statements deserve that same level of precision, too. Your artist statement provides important context for your art; it communicates information about your intent, process, materials, and sources of inspiration. The statement is important when presenting your work to galleries and other venues for potential exhibition. It also stands in your place when you cannot attend a gallery reception, still conveying who you are as an artist, and reaching out to potential buyers.
If you want to refine your skill in writing a meaningful and individualized artist’s statement, please plan to attend this practical, interactive workshop. By the end of the session, you will have an informative and interesting statement of current work, as well as a process for creating individualized statements for exhibits of your artwork.
Workshop facilitator Nancy Ellen Walker is accomplished as both artist and educator. Her artwork is in private collections across the United States, and her extensive teaching experience includes more than 30 years of formal classroom instruction, online seminars, and workshop facilitation. In these roles, Nancy has refined the gifts of listening to students with varying experiences and guiding their talents to succeed.
This $30 workshop is limited to 12 participants in order to facilitate interaction and individualized guidance. No-shows will not be reimbursed.
