DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of painting a landscape using oil paints on canvas in this two-day workshop with local artist Ari Ferro. \nWorking from a selection of favorite photos you supply\, you will learn elements of composition\, center of interest\, how to lead the eye into the composition\, and relative values in the photo. \nYou will progress through a charcoal sketch\, and to a preliminary and then a final painting\, learning about color theory\, values and mixing; areal perspective; and modeling of depicted objects to create a 3-D quality. \nLearn: \n\nBasics of working with oil paints\nElements of composition\nColor theory\, values\, and mixing\nUse of charcoal sketches and preliminary (poster) paintings as a prelude to beginning the final painting\nAreal perspective and modeling of objects\n\nCreate: \n\nA landscape painting in oils\n\n  \nSaturday and Sunday\, August 3 & 4; 10:30 am to 4:30 pm (includes lunch break) \n$ 260.
