Established in 1754 as the seat of government for Orange County\, Hillsborough’s colonial legacy and signs of its importance in North Carolina and American history can be seen everywhere. \nThe tour begins at the Hillsborough Visitors Center\, located in the eighteenth century Alexander Dickson Farm House\, and guides visitors to a variety of historic places from the site of a 1790s African American-owned distillery to the 1840s Orange County Courthouse and the grave of one of North Carolina’s signers of the Declaration of Independence. \nThis is an in-person walking tour that sometimes crosses uneven terrain. Please plan to be walking or standing for the duration of the event\, wear comfortable walking shoes\, and bring a water bottle (plus your curiosity)! \nFor groups that are concerned about the length\, duration\, or terrain of the tour. Over 100 people answered the call and created an amazing variety of squares. The quilt was then sewn by Bull Town Fabrics and is now ready to be viewed and admired. DESCRIPTION:The 255th Regulator Remembrance Day Event will occur at 6pm on Friday\, June 19th\, 2026 at the Regulator Historic Marker Site (200 East King Street\, Hillsborough\, NC 27278). Organized by Scott Washington\, former Assistant Director of the Orange County Historical Museum\, it’s a chance for the public to remember six brave men\, accused of high treason\, who were executed by English Colonial Governor William Tryon on June 19\, 1771 for daring to question unfair English colonial policies. The annual event is open to the public and descendants who are invited to bring flowers to lay at the site during the event. Staff from the Alamance County Battleground State Historic Site will be present\, too. There will be additional events at the Battleground on Saturday.

King Street\, 27278)\, for an afternoon of Vaudeville\, Burlesque\, and Vintage Pin-Up themed art models. Artists provide their own supplies. \nThis event is open to everyone who is interested in Live Model Figure Drawing. **All skill levels** are invited to come relax with us and enjoy an afternoon with a variety of models in interesting\, dimensional\, texture-filled costumes and accessories. SAF offers a very cozy\, comfortable space. The Bottom Line Burlesque & Comedy Troupe will provide the model(s) as well as the time moderator. Tour the 1790 Alexander Dickson House and learn more about The Alliance’s work to preserve the rich history of Hillsborough. \n12:00-4:00  HILLSBOROUGH RAMBLE\nRamble around town to see the many diverse tour sites\, including (but not limited to!): \n\n \nVisit the beautiful home of W. Steven Burke and Randy Campbell to view their collection of more than 1\,200 miniature American Folk Art Buildings\, the nation’s largest and only such collection. The buildings were created by Americans nationwide and represent communities both real and imaginary. They uniquely conjoin history\, architecture\, and folk art. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nPilgrim’s Rest/Hasell-Nash House (1819) \n\n\n \nThe Occaneechi Replica Village\, constructed by the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation (OBSN) and Orange County to honor and inform about the area’s indigenous community.
