DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to Moorefields on the Last Sunday of each month beginning May 26 through August 28 from 1:00 to 4:00 to stroll the grounds and gardens and take a free tour of the historic house.  Visit the Moore family cemetery\, as well as the graves of the cats of former owner Edward Draper-Savage\, and if you are so inclined\, take a walk through the adjoining Seven Mile Creek Nature Preserve. \nFriends of Moorefields Board Members will be on hand to talk about the history of Moorefields and update you on special projects. \nThis event is free\, but donations are encouraged. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for this relaxed drop in session — no instruction\, but lots and lots of supplies for you to use as you choose. We have everything from a range of substrates and papers (including specialty and handmade papers) and adhesives\, to paints (acrylic\, watercolor\, and tempera) and paint markers\, chalk markers\, oil and chalk pastels\, watercolor crayons and pencils\, washi tapes\, rubber stamps and inks\, a die cutter with dies and embossing folders\, and different ephemera.  You can also bring and use supplies of your own. \nYou can come for some or all of the time. It is “pay as you please” with $15 as a middling guideline suggestion — we recognize everyone’s usage is different. \nNo registration required at this time. All mediums welcome. Suitable for adults and mature teens. School age children are also welcome to attend with a participating adult. \nPS There are also refreshments — a variety of teas\, hot chocolate and hot cider packs\, hot and cold water\, usually fresh fruit — and\, of course\, chocolate!

Established in 1754 as the seat of government for Orange County\, Hillsborough’s colonial legacy and signs of its importance in North Carolina and American history can be seen everywhere. \nThis is an in-person walking tour that sometimes crosses uneven terrain. DESCRIPTION:Located in Hillsborough\, North Carolina\, Ayr Mount strikes a startling figure in the historical town. The 1815 federal\, masonry edifice was the first of its kind in this once bustling trade town\, and thanks to the preservation efforts of our founder Richard Jenrette\, remains well preserved with several original family objects on display. \nCAHPT invites you to explore the site to learn about the design\, construction\, and maintenance of the estate as well as the lives of those\, enslaved and free\, who crafted and occupied the extravagant home and landscape from 1820 to 2018. \nVisitors are welcome to explore the site select Thursdays\, Fridays\, and Saturdays April through November. Guided tours will be offered Thursday & Friday at 1:00pm and 2:30pm. Tour times for Saturday take place at 11:00am\, 1:00pm\, and 2:30pm.
