In these workshops, you’ll learn basic cut, fold, and paste techniques for three simple vellum lanterns: folded paper bag, pyramid, and cube.
From there, you can expand upon these shapes by incorporating multiples and using collage elements, pipe cleaners, coated wire, quick dry paint, and negative space to create original lanterns perfect for Solstice!
All lanterns are intended for use with battery-powered LED mini lights. Materials provided!
These workshops are open to all; an adult must accompany children under 13. See special pricing for adult-child pairs.
*Proceeds from 2024 Lantern Workshops benefit the Hillsborough Arts Council, supporting continued access to community arts programming and opportunities for local artists!
