255th Annual Regulator Remembrance Day Event
June 19 @ 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm

The 255th Regulator Remembrance Day Event will occur at 6pm on Friday, June 19th, 2026 at the Regulator Historic Marker Site (200 East King Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278). Organized by Scott Washington, former Assistant Director of the Orange County Historical Museum, it’s a chance for the public to remember six brave men, accused of high treason, who were executed by English Colonial Governor William Tryon on JuneĀ 19, 1771 for daring to question unfair English colonial policies. The annual event is open to the public and descendants who are invited to bring flowers to lay at the site during the event. Staff from the Alamance County Battleground State Historic Site will be present, too. There will be additional events at the Battleground on Saturday.
