2nd Annual Orange-Chatham African American Cultural Festival

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will sponsor the 2nd Annual Orange-Chatham African American Cultural Festival on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The event will be held at Hargraves Center, located at 216 North Roberson Street, Chapel Hill, NC.  The mission of this festival is to promote a positive image of African Americans and other minorities in our community through the mediums of art, music, dance, drama, and poetry.  Come out and enjoy a day of celebration while gaining a greater appreciation of African American Culture in the United States.  Joining us as MC for the second year in a row will be one of North Carolina’s top radio personalities and host of “The Culture” on Hot 97.9, Coco Filipina.  The feature performance will be by Epitome, a soulful female vocal group!  Other performers will include singer, Jasmye Kelly; Bump’s Raising Voices Youth Choir; and Line Dancing led by Robin Sutton, Line Dance Instructor.  DJ AJax will provide music throughout the day.  Back by popular demand will be delicious food provided by Katina Perry of Tasty Turkey Que.  Other vendors will include Marina Thomas with Culturally Tied, Delsey Avery – Paparazzi Jewelry, and Jamia Evans – Candles.   This FREE community event will take place outdoors.  For more information, contact artsandletters@chcaa-dst.org.
