Carolina Piedmont Summertime Tea Talks

August 29, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Calling all foodies, tea lovers, locavores, and growers! Did you know that green, black, white, and oolong tea are all made from the same plant—Camellia sinensis—which thrives in the NC Piedmont? That tea has terroir? And that NC farmers and gardeners are part of a growing movement in producing local tea? Join us at RambleRill for CAROLINA PIEDMONT SUMMERTIME TEA TALKS: A SYMPOSIUM ON GROWING LOCAL TEA AND COMMUNITY. You’ll learn about tea growing and processing and its medicinal and therapeutic aspects. You’ll taste teas and explore the gustatory nuances of tea types. You’ll also learn about the renaissance in tea consumption and cultivation in the United States and the local tea community of growers and drinkers. The panel of five presenters will include Camellia Forest’s Christine Parks, tea grower and author of Grow Your Own Tea, and—live from California via Zoom—the renowned James Norwood Pratt, America’s Tea Sage and author of James Norwood Pratt’s Tea Dictionary, The Romance of Tea, and other works.

$41.50—SUNDAY, AUGUST 29, 1pm-5pm at RambleRill Farm. Co-hosted by RambleRill and Camellia Forest Tea Gardens.
