Constitution Day 2018 Program at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church

What is really at stake when sectarian religious values threaten to have an inappropriate influence on our government, its policies and its leaders?  What are the dangers for our justice system, our public schools and the non-discriminatory values that have for so long been a hallmark of freedom in America?  Ms. Mahaley and Rev. Russell will cover the range of ways in which some conservative religious forces threaten the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious freedom, including how that clause came to be added to our Constitution and how Hillsborough played a role in that critical development. Please note that folks with diverse opinions in regard to the subject matter are not only welcomed, but hoped for. A lively, respectful discussion is our goal!
