Mime for Beginners + Collaborative Creative Process for Adults

December 22, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

Two separate 10-week workshops; students can choose to take one or both. Saturdays, December 4-18; January 8-February 19

MIME FOR BEGINNERS

Saturdays, December 4-February 19 | 11am-12pm

10 weeks (skipping Saturday December 25 and January 1)

$200

Mime is a contemporary art form with ancient roots. Learn how to create invisible objects, inhabit imaginary worlds, build characters, invent creatures, and delve into impossible situations. Experiment with body language, non-verbal communication, and energy. Learn some of the basics of improvisation and play. You will interact with your fellow students and devise original mime pieces. Ages 14-100

COLLABORATIVE CREATIVE PROCESS FOR ADULTS

Saturdays, December 4-February 19 | 12-1:30PM

10 weeks (skipping Saturday December 25 and January 1)

$200

Learn how to begin working on a new performance, how to come up with masses of potential material, how to talk about the work in a way that moves it forward, how to communicate supportively and peacefully–in short, how to have a deliriously happy collaborative experience. You will work as a group to choose a theme and build performance material around it.

Students can take both classes for a discounted rate of $350.
