Orange County Juneteenth Celebration 2025: Where Freedom Gathers, We Rise

Celebrate Juneteenth in Hillsborough, NC with a full day of music, storytelling, food, and joyful community connection. This free, family-friendly event includes three themed sessions at three venues. All are welcome!

Morning Ceremony: Honoring the Fight for Freedom | 10:00–11:30 AM
Location: Davis Price Farmers Market – 140 E. Margaret Lane
Featuring a keynote by Dr. Sonny Kelly, performances by B.U.M.P. the Triangle and The Magic of African Rhythm, and a Color Guard presentation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Morning refreshments will be provided by B3 Coffee.

Afternoon Luncheon & Film | 2:30–5:00 PM
Location: Orange County Public Library – 137 W. Margaret Lane
Includes a screening of Frederick Douglass: In Five Speeches, a catered lunch from Taste of Soul Catering, and an intergenerational storytelling activity.

Evening Block Party & Celebration | 6:00–9:00 PM
Location: Eno Arts Mill – 437 Dimmocks Mill Rd, Suite 17
Enjoy an outdoor celebration with a DJ set by DJ Jay Mami, live music by B.U.M.P. the Triangle, a unity drum circle by The Magic of African Rhythm, and a local marketplace. Food vendors include Oak City Fish & Chips, Ethio-Indi Alkaline Cuisine, and Quench 305.

All venues are ADA accessible. ASL interpretation and multilingual materials available upon request. Free parking available at each site.
