Jim’s musical journey is the stuff of storytelling magic: He spent 14 years touring the world with the Red Clay Ramblers, appearing in two Off-Broadway productions (Diamond Studs and Sam Shepard’s A Lie of the Mind), and later spent nearly 27 years performing with Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Group. Closer to home, he’s played with the Green Level Entertainers, Piedmont Melody Makers, Duke Lacrosse and Pinky Wyoming, Craver Hicks Watson & Newberry, and the Williamson Brothers—becoming a cherished staple of North Carolina music.

In 1986, Jim launched his first Christmas show at The Cave in Chapel Hill… and he hasn’t missed a single year since. This year marks his 40th annual celebration, and we’re honored to host this milestone evening.
