The Triangle Fermentation Fest
September 24 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Let’s celebrate and demystify fermentation!
This unique food festival teaches and explores all things fermented. Its a fun afternoon of demos, presentations, and hands-on workshops.
Plus outside under vendor tents, festival goers will have fun learning about different types of ferments, signing up for upcoming classes, and sampling and buying fermented foods and related products from your local community of passionate fermentors.
For those new to fermenting, our Ask-an-Expert table will have local experts from the area available to answer your questions.
And new this year is Culture swap: a 30 min meetup to exchange scoobies, starters, etc and a bottle share giving you the opportunity to share cultures such as kombucha SCOBYs, milk kefir grains, and sourdough starter, cider yeasts. You get the idea!
Presenters include Author and Teacher Meredith Leigh, who has written both “Pure Charcuterie” and “The Ethical Meat” as well as Erin Torgerson from Seed and Salt who will teach you how to make sourdough pasta.
This event is free to attend and family friendly. Cold Fermented Wood Fired Pizza will be available all day as well as local craft beers, ciders and wines. Tons of Non-Alcoholic options too!
More details to come. The full list of vendors and the presentation schedule will be released in August.
