September 8, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
| $20.00On Saturday, September 8, Forty Acres is pleased to kick off our fall shows with one of the recipients of the 2018 North Carolina Heritage Award, the incomparable Tony Williamson, playing with the Tony Williamson Band.
During the early 1970s, Williamson played with the likes of Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, and Bobby Hicks, as well as being a part of the Green Valley Ramblers.
Subsequently, he performed classical music with Duke University Symphony, demonstrating how much of a mandolin virtuoso he had become.
In 1996 he helped to organize the first MerleFest Mando Mania.

In the mid-2000s he helped to organize the Low Country All-Star Band, fronted by Vassar Clements and Tony Rice.
He has played with Alison Krauss, Chris Thile, Earl Scruggs, Bobby Hicks, David Grisman, Sam Bush, Mike Marshall, Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Douglas, Don Stiernberg, and Robin and Linda Williams.

Tony is a visionary musician, composer, musical instrument expert, teacher, and mentor. He has played stringed instruments, most famously mandolin, for six decades and has been receiving awards and honors for his music for nearly 50 of those years.
Never content to rest on his laurels, today Tony continues to perform live and travel internationally and continues to compose and record music.
The show will be at RambleRill Farm, where they grow and sell certified organic fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, and chicken eggs.
The farm will open at 5 PM for farmer-guided or self-guided tours, outdoor games (corn hole, horseshoes, croquet), and shopping at the Farm Store. Enjoy a bring-your-own picnic or buy a meal at the farm from a food truck. Crepes Veronique will be on site to offer authentic French Parisian crepes for your dining delight.
Showtime is 8 p.m. and tickets are $20 advanced, through the convenient Brown Paper Ticket link, or $25 at the door, if available. Come on out to the Farm to join the fun!
