Dirty Bird with Owen Fitzgerald

May 8, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

| $15

Grab your mama and a picnic and come out to the farm for this Mother’s Day early show.
Dirty Bird hails from the concrete woodlands of New York City, and consists of Christie Belanger, Melissa Escudero, Natasha Thweatt, Nick Katz, Eli Greenhoe and Blake Suben. They’re a New York style band bringing a wide variety of musical backgrounds—ranging from jazz to bluegrass to classical—together in one vibrant and wholly original folk sound.
Since forming, the band has presented powerful performances to venues including Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, Mass MoCa and Radio Bean, and the Northside Music Festival. Dirty Bird brings both new and long-devoted audiences intimate, poetic lyrics charged by three-part harmony and lively, distinctive arrangements. Soulful, harmonious, and ever-evolving, Dirty Bird’s music redefines what it means to be a folk band.

Owen Fitzgerald is a short story author who plays guitar. His songs are detailed and desperate. They’re dark and funny. They’re sad and joyful. They’re surprising and sharp. What if Flannery O’Connor learned a couple of Neil Young tunes? What if John Prine landed a song onto the Fargo soundtrack? Is it folk music? Sure.
