Emotions: Drawing the Emotive Face, a Workshop Series with Wendy Aldwyn

Drawing from projections of faces from different angles, we’ll study the structure of the face with particular attention to expression. Emphasis placed on line quality and lights and darks

Learn:

October 3         Basic facial structure from a study of a skull from profile and front

October 10       Eyes: the window to the soul – seriously?

October 17       A grin or a grimace? Expressions of pain, joy, terror, exasperation

October 24       Scary faces – the Halloween edition

Create:

Drawings: quick gestural studies and long poses, exploring various facial expressions in depth

Tuesdays, October 3, 10, 17, and 24 (four week series, also available as standalone sessions)

6 to 8 pm

For adults and teens serious about art, some drawing experience would be helpful
