History of the Regulators with Bill Melega

Local educator and historian, William Melega, will talk about the history of the Regulator Movement and the Regulator Riots that took place in Hillsborough, North Carolina in 1770. The Regulator Movement formed as a backlash against the royal colonial governor, William Tryon in the late 1760s. Come learn about the movement in colonial North Carolina, the Riots that happened in Hillsborough and the resulting battle at Alamance. This online talk is a part of a larger event held by the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough that opens online on September 24th in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Regulator Movement.
