Mad Women of Hillsborough with Sylvia Hoffert

Please join us online for this special program in which Dr. Sylvia Hoffert, former professor of history and women’s studies at UNC Chapel Hill will present on ‘The Mad Women of Hillsborough’ from 1846-1890. The program will focus on women’s health and mental health in the 19th century.

This program is part of “She Changed the World,” commemorating the 100th anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote.
“She Changed the World: NC Women Breaking Barriers,” an initiative led by the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, celebrates the achievements of North Carolina women and explores the diversity of their experiences and impact on our history.
