Remembering Pearl Harbor

December 5, 2019 @ 7:00 pm

Educator and historian, Bill Melega will give a talk about the infamous 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor on Thursday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m. Melega, an expert on World War II, is known for his interactive and dynamic history education programs, will talk about the attack, how it came about, and what it meant for the Allies, the U.S., and the world.

The attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii took place on December 7, 1941. The lack of any warning and the brutality of the attack led President Franklin D Roosevelt to proclaim the day “a date that will live on in infamy.” This presentation will be given in advance of Pearl Harbor Day 2019, 78 years after the attack took place.

The event will take place at The Eagle Lodge #19 – 142 W King St, Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278.  It is free and open to the public.
