Revolutionary War Living History Day

February 11, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Each year the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough invites the public to experience the local history of the American Revolutionary War with live actors, dancers, historic tours, and interactive activities in this all day family friendly event. The 16th Annual Revolutionary War Living History Day will be held at the Hillsborough Visitors Center, also known as the Historic Alexander Dickson House, with additional events happening throughout downtown Hillsborough, on February 11th from 11am-4pm.

Revolutionary War Living History Day focuses on Hillsborough’s unique role in the American Revolution, recalling the occupation of Hillsborough by British General Lord Charles Cornwallis and his 1,900-man army on February 20th, 1781. Festivities will include crafts and games, historic re-enactments and demonstrations, colonial dancing and fire pit cooking, Occaneechi demonstrations, book reading and signing with Suzanne Adair, and two historic tours (pre-registration required).

Suzanne Adair’s book signing begins at 4pm at the Hillsborough Visitor’s Center

All events are FREE except for the following walking tours:
