Women Experience the Vote: Empowerment & Politics

October 11, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Please join The Burwell School Historic Site online to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage with three locally elected women. In this program, you will hear from Jenn Weaver, the first female mayor of Hillsborough; Hillary MacKenzie, elected to the Orange County School Board and now its chair; and Renee Price, Vice-Chair of the Orange County Board of Commissioner and recently named North Carolina County Commissioner of the Year. Renee is also one of the Burwell School commissioners. This presentation is part of the Burwell School’s celebration of “She Changed the World,” commemorating the 100th anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote. We will end the program with a Q&A where the speakers will answer viewers’ questions.

This is a free program presented by the Burwell School Historic Site, but donations are appreciated. We are a nonprofit and rely heavily on donations. Through our website, donations are quick, easy and much appreciated: https://burwellschool.org/donate
Please note: registration is limited to 100 attendees.
