Historic Hillsborough Excursion Day

Experience Hillsborough, the small town with big history, through a day of FREE activities at our local sites!

Program Details:
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM:
- Alexander Dickson House – onsite reenactors, Whit’s Frozen Custard, Dickson House Exhibit
- Ayr Mount – Self-guided tours & family-friendly brickmaking demonstrations
- St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church – Grounds are open for self-guided tours
- Occaneechi Replica Village – Grounds are open for self-guided tours
- Masonic Lodge – Docent-led tours available
- Burwell School Historic Site – Self-guided tours of the house available
- Orange County Historical Museum- Reopening of the kid’s space
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Dickerson Chapel will be open for self-guided tours
1:00 PM: Special Docent-led Schoolhouse Tour at the Burwell School
1:00 -2:30PM: Ghosts of Hillsborough at the Old Town Cemetery – Hosted by the Orange County Historical Museum. Stop by during this time to meet the spirits of people buried in the Old Town Cemetery and beyond. They will share stories of their lives… and deaths.
