Last Friday Events at Margaret Lane Gallery

June’s Last Friday brings special events all over Downtown and West End Hillsborough – including at Margaret Lane Gallery! We will have art, live music, and live poetry/spoken word:

ART:

• TWO art shows:
  • StoryLines, Art That Tells a Story, features art from local artist illustrators including Kevin Flynn Bell, Michi Doan, Eliza Murphy, and Barbara Younger
  • Hannah’s Hope, honoring the memory of Hannah Gettes, features Hannah’s art, and art from friends who remember her. Representatives from the Art Therapy Institute of Carrboro and NAMI Orange County are expected to be present.
• Three more gallery rooms and a whole 2^nd floor full of work from over 30 local artists.
• Conversation with local artists – we expect a number of the artists with work in the gallery will be present, ready to discuss their work, inspiration and process.
• Free art packets for children (up to the age of 99+ … ) – pollinator cut outs in celebration of Pollinator Week.

LIVE MUSIC:

• Tim Wells and the Rhythm Aces (Cajun dance music) will be playing on the front lawn.

LIVE SPOKEN WORD:

• Will Davis (Endless Will) and his colleagues will be performing on the front lawn, courtesy of the Hillsborough Arts Council.

Plus light refreshments and good company inside and out.
