The Family Friendly Day Trip.

Start your day with a beautiful walk on the Eno River. Bring your roller blades, bikes, and scooters. Along your walk, you can learn about the history and ecology of the river with educational panel signage on the trail.

The Riverwalk will lead you into Gold Park which features restrooms, 2 playgrounds (one for older and one for younger children), a separate fenced Dog Park, and a large open field for kicking or throwing a ball.

Whit’s is a treat for the whole family and an easy walk down Calvin Street from the Riverwalk and nearby Gold Park.

Take the Riverwalk back into downtown and check out the Orange County Main Public Library. They not only offer a strong collection of books and digital media, but programs and fun events for families. Check their calendar of events for craft and game days, or public readings and programs, often times hosted by local authors. Enjoy the kids area on the first floor.
